In the railroad industry, the word “hostling” means the process of preparing a steam locomotive for operation. On this tour, guests receive a unique, up-close, and behind-the-scenes view of how a steam locomotive is prepared for the day’s operation. This tour is limited to just 10 people.

It is the grand reopening of the historic rail car that was involved in a mysterious crash 40 years ago. Since then, tales of a curse have followed it wherever it goes. From simple accidents to unexplained disappearances, this car seems to spell disaster for all who ride it.

Grab your family and head on down to the 1978 annual Pumpkin Junction Fall Festival, where we celebrate the last Fall train with games, food and, most importantly, the yearly Pumpkin carving contest. But when the contest is mysteriously sabotaged, our gang of amateur sleuths make it their mission to uncover the mystery that lies behind this year's old tradition. Be a part of the mystery as our group tries to solve the case of the Haunting of Pumpkin Junction.

Superheroes Assemble! Join us October 10 at the Strasburg Rail Road, America’s longest running short line rail road, for Superhero Day. Back by popular demand, we are once again partnering with Enchanted Teapot to introduce you to several of your favorite world saving friends!

Whether you choose to focus on the precision of the throttle or the rhythmic art of the shovel, you’ll be responsible for keeping a piece of history in motion.

Our first-class train cars will escort you all through the beautiful countryside to the gala held at the Barn at Paradise Station. Inauguration into this immersion begins as guests are encouraged to eavesdrop on several crucial conversations heard aboard their train car.

Our Night Before Christmas trains will put you in the holiday spirit as our talented cast recites the classic poem by Clement Clarke Moore as well as other festive Christmas stories. Your family will also be regaled by a troupe of carolers singing and dancing to a medley of your favorite Christmas carols.
