Family Groups and Reunions
Make new memories together! Plan your next family vacation, military reunion, or retirement community outings at a unique venue—the Strasburg Rail Road! Have fun reconnecting with fellow travelers as you enjoy the 45-minute round-trip train ride from Strasburg to Paradise, PA. If visiting between April and October, bring your lunch with you to enjoy it at the picnic grove along the way before journeying back to the station. The Strasburg Rail Road also offers private excursions for large groups, but they must follow our established departure schedule.
Birthday Parties for All Ages
Looking for a unique place to have a birthday party in Lancaster County, PA? We also have birthday options ideal for children under the age of 12 with add-on options for your specific needs.
Your group will have the option to reserve an entire train car to celebrate with the guest of honor as you travel 45 minutes to Paradise and back. Our team is happy to work with you to select a lunch option for the event, choose from our menu or a convenient boxed lunch, enjoyed on board or at the picnic grove.

Parties of fifteen (15) or more paying guests are eligible to receive a 20% discount on Daily Train retail tickets.
Group Rate is only for Coach and Open Air (we can accommodate groups for other cars/experiences but there are no discounts)

2026 Group Policies
Please be aware and familiar with the following information:
- Groups should arrive at least 45 minutes prior to the scheduled train time.
- The standard train ride is 45 minutes long, round trip. Trains depart promptly on time.
- Group reservations must be made at least seven (7) days in advance.
- Only parties of fifteen (15) or more people will be eligible for the group discounted tickets (when applicable).
- Strasburg Rail Road can accommodate groups of up to 400 people at one time (although pricing will vary depending on the event requested and whether privacy is needed).
- The Group Rate does not apply to Dining, First Class, Caboose Charters, Full Train Charters, or special events (Christmas, Easter, Day Out With Thomas, etc.).
- All Group Bookings are required to be paid in full at the time of booking.
- Strasburg Rail Road accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and Business/Corporate Checks for payment.
- Reservations must be paid in full and all final counts/meal choices submitted no later than fourteen (14) days before the arrival date.
- Strasburg Rail Road is happy to accommodate guests with mobility issues. However, due to the historic nature of our equipment, some restrictions may apply.
